Visapur Fort Trek

Vispur Fort is located in the Pune district of Maharashtra and it is situated 52km from Pune. Visapur is the opposite ridge to the famous Lohagad fort, built at the height of 3556 ft. above sea level.Trek difficulty Medium.There are 2 ways to start trek to Visapur fort

1) The Gaimukh Khind trail: This is probably the fastest way to reach the top of Visapur Fort .On the route to Lohagad from Malavli, take a left once you reach Viraj Farms Lohgad  and

2) from Patan village.

A couple of isolated caves

Some old house ruins

There is also a huge horse driven flour mill with the grinding stone still in place

A couple of water tanks of the forts still have water even in early summer.

One can also find huge chiseled image of Maruti out of rock

As we wander you may even spot a few scattered cannons and numerous water cisterns

Ghorawdeshwar caves & Temple

The caves are situated at the top of a hill .The caves were carved out of a single rock formation around the 3rd and 4th century CE .Ghorawdeshwar or Ghoradeshwar caves are a must visit on lazy Sunday morning.It is located around 30 km from Pune on Old Pune Mumbai highway

Birla Ganesh , Prathi Shiridi  and  Shri Parshwa Pradnyalaya Jain Teerth 
are other near by places to visit.
